The Algarve is renowned for its year-round warm climate and clean sandy beaches. The Algarve boasts some of the very best Golf Courses in the World. There are many courses close-by including The Meridian Championship Course at Penina, and the two Pestana courses, Gramacho and Pinta.
From the house, the village of Ferragudo is a 25 minute walk away or 5 minutes in the car. There are several restaurants and a supermarket all within 5/10 minutes walk from the house. In the village you can enjoy many fine restaurants, cafés and bars. Live music can be heard during the summer months on Saturdays in the square. In the village you will also find supermarkets, bakeries, a post office, cash-points, gift shops, art galleries, a butcher's, a fish market, a pharmacist and tourist information.
Whilst Ferragudo is a very quiet, calm place you can venture into Carvoeiro, Portimao or Praia da Rocha where there is night-life, shopping and restaurants to suit all.
There are three beautiful beaches (Pintadinho, Caneiros and Praia do Molhe) all within close walking distance of the house (7 - 15 minutes walk). Slightly further away (20 minutes walk) is Praia Grande (close to Vila Castelo). This is a fantastic beach with sunbeds, a children’s play area and beach volley ball. Praia Grande also has several restaurants and bars, which are also open in the evening during the peak season.
Other local attractions include the Carvoeiro Tennis Club, Slide & Splash and the Zoo Marine.
